Together since 1971, this 7 piece Dixieland group play the best in New Orleans Jazz, Gospel and Blues.

"The Black Eagles" have been a fixture on the international jazz scene since 1971, bringing the sounds of traditional New Orleans Jazz to audiences all over the world, for more than 40 years! Many observers regard them as the premier band playing in the traditional jazz style; they regard themselves as the Keepers of that Flame.

Ginetta's Vendetta  - July 1st @ 6:30 p.m.

Meet Ginetta M. the triple threat female power-house who plays Pocket-Trumpet, sings, composes, and leads the acclaimed jazzy and funky band: Ginetta's Vendetta. 2016 was packed with many new & diverse musical opportunities, including performing on their own boat on the Hudson during the Christmas holiday with the popular "Cocoa  & Carols" cruise! 2017 opened with a bang with her first major smooth Jazz Concert which sold out at the Cerritos Center for Performing Arts!  She was also a sell out in Guadalajara, Mexico with her Mexican "Vendetta"!

Many performances are in store for 2017, to name a few - The Belleayre Music Festival, The Jeffery Dinowitz Summer Concert Series (July 18th), a mini-tour thru D.C & Baltimore, July 29/30 at the popular new Jazz venue: Maureen's Jazz Cellar!The San Jose Jazz Festival (August 11th), She has recently received the amazing honor of being asked to perform at the Havana Jazz Festival, 2018!

 

Ginetta has 4 albums and 3 Grammy nominations, including best instrumental soloist & Best Arranger. Other festivals have included a co-headlining appearance With Tony Monaco The Java Jazz  Festival 2015 with Headliners where she & Chris Botti were both reviewed in the Indonesian press as "Trumpets of Death"!

THE RICKY GORDON SEXTET 

Drummer, percussionist, composer, actor and social activist, Ricky “Dirty Red” Gordon’s career has spanned musical genres and definition by working alongside some of the greatest artists in the music, TV and film worlds, including Wynton Marsalis, Carolina Slim, Public Enemy, Hubert Sumlin, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, The Allman Brothers Band, Tedeschi Trucks Band and The Fraternal Order Of the Society Blues (a trio to preserve Piedmont Blues).  He has performed on and composed for various television shows, documentaries and films including Brian Averill’s Ghetto Dawgs, Spike Lee’s Red Hook SummerWhen The Levees Broke, and Sharp Talk with Reverend Al Sharpton, Da Sweet Blood of Jesus, Kiara Jones' Christmas Wedding Baby and most recently Tiasia Obrien's Black Rose to name a few.  Some of Gordon’s acting credits include playing Lionel Hampton in Spike Lee’s Malcolm X, as well as appearances in the director’s Mo Better Blues and School Daze

The Ricky  Gordon Sextet will be guiding you on a journey from New Orleans to New York and beyond, upon the spirit fueled train of Jazz. An evening which will uplift the soul and explore the lineage that has forged jazz into one of Americas greatest and most treasured cultural creations.

July 15th 6:30 P.M. Blues Maneuver

The Blues Maneuver has been one of the Catskill region’s most dynamic special event bands for more than 20 years. Based in the heart of the Catskills, the seven-piece band specializes in old-school R&B, including many gems from the Motown and Stax songbooks. The group features top-notch musicians like Jesse Cohen (guitar) and John Heney (bass and vocals), both veterans of the New York City music scene, and The Mighty Mighty Catskill Horns, led by our Sax Goddesses, Rebecca Harrington and Kristina Johnson.

“The Pedrito Martinez Group is writing a new chapter in Cuban music history!”

Pedrito’s career as a leader began in 2005 with the formation in NYC of The Pedrito Martinez Group. The group’s Grammy-nominated first album was released October, 2013 and was chosen among NPR’s Favorite Albums of 2013 and The Boston Globe Critics Top Ten Albums of 2013. Habana Dreams, PMG’s second album, was released in June 2016. Guests include, Ruben Blades, Isaac Delgado, Wynton Marsalis, Descemer Bueno, Roman Diaz, Angelique Kidjo, and Telmary Diaz. Accolades for Habana Dreams include #1 Latin Jazz Album in NPR’s Jazz Critics Top Jazz Albums for 2016 and being named among Boston Globe's World Music Albums for 2016.

Ian Flanigan is a seasoned, acoustic singer-songwriter local to the Hudson Valley. His sound is an eclectic blend of progressive folk and percussive finger style that features a rich, husky voice and evocative lyrics. His music is reminiscent of a road less traveled, and paved with poignant lyrical truths of his past. Authenticity and connection through music—a common theme within his stories—is essential to Ian's life, which is one of the many reasons why listeners love his music.

This year is an exciting time of growth for Ian as he anticipates the release of his newest album. The compilation of hauntingly dynamic songs, disclose the humble reflection of a man's past. Each song serenades the unity of life, and an affinity for atonement—a sound that's provoking, and familiar.

Nancy Kamen is an American jazz pianist, vocalist, sound artist, composer and producer whose innovative combination of jazz and classical music has entertained audiences worldwide.  She has performed and taught in Europe, Scandinavia, South America and the States for over 40 years.

August 19th 6:30 p.m. Reggie Pittman/Loren Daniels Quartet

The Reggie Pittman/Loren Daniels Quartet is Reggie Pittman – trumpet/flugelhorn, Loren Daniels – piano/vocal, Mike Richmond – bass and Jonathon Peretz – drums.

The quartet is a group of seasoned jazz musicians/educators from all over the U.S. who now reside in the metropolitan NYC area. Some of the greats that they have played with include: Milt Jackson, Stan Getz, The Mingus Dynasty Band, Blood, Sweat and Tears, Maynard Ferguson, The Allman Brothers Band, Levon Helm and The Duke Ellington Orchestra.

All members of the quartet have taught music to all levels from nursery school to graduate school.

The Reggie Pittman/Loren Daniels Quartet plays original compositions by both Daniels and Pittman and innovative arrangements of jazz classics and popular standards. Their previous release is called Point A to Point A. Smilessence is the name of their latest release.

THE VOICE OF PRISCILLA BASKERVILLE - August 26th @ 8PM

A Multi Talented Soprano, Priscilla Baskerville has sung as Aida and Mimi (La Boheme) with the Metropolitan Opera for 8 years and is brilliant at singing both classical and Broadway. She brought down the house at the Christmas show at the Apollo. With her powerful vocal range and beautiful style, she also teaches and directs the gospel choir at the Fiorello H. La Guardia High for Music, Art, and The Performing Arts at Lincoln Center in Manhattan.  She is also a popular vocal coach. 

She is a MET opera star with a powerful voice. Expect to hear some classical pieces and Broadway tunes with some interspersed gospel songs. 

Priscilla shall be accompanied by Mark Steven Holland on the piano.

August 26th 6:30 P.M. Bowery Creek

Bowery Creek is a real place, in Middleburgh, NY and Bowery Creek is a real band, the kind you can listen to for a long time and still enjoy them.  The Festival found them at a street fair in Margaretville, NY and noticed how much the people passing by stopped to listen.  We decided they would be a great addition to the Deck Band lineup.  They agreed and here they are.  They play a great mix of blues and R&B which is perfect for a late Summer evening.

 "BLUES MEETS JAZZ"  The Ricky Gordon Quartet with Brianna Thomas & Greg Lewis - September 2nd @ 8PM

Blues Meets Jazz”, brilliantly orchestrated and led by Composer, Percussionist and Bandleader Ricky “Dirty Red” Gordon who will bring together the song stylings of Brianna Thomas, hailed by The Wall Street Journal’s Will Friedwald  as “the best young straight-ahead jazz singer of her generation”; Hammond B-3 organ extraordinaire Greg Lewis, recently named Downbeat Magazine’s TOP 5 Rising Stars on organ in their 64th Annual Critics' Poll; tenor titan known for his work with The SunRa Orchestra and Odean Pope, Terry Lawson and the 16-year-old Newark guitar prodigy, Cosimo Fabrizio, winner of the prestigious 2017 Charles Mingus High School Competition Award as an “Outstanding Soloist” and who at this tender age, has already shared the stage with Paquito D’Rivera and Wynton Marsalis.

"With a voice so sultry and mesmerizing, filling each word with pure magnetic emotion, Jaime will pull at your heart strings, drawing you into her world of song as you smile, cry, or...just remember."

Jaime Borelli exemplifies top notch musicianship and vocal talent. Born in Kingston, NY she began playing piano at the age of 10, and by 14 she was playing in churches and accompanying her high school choir. Today she is a music director of 2 churches in Ulster County. Throughout her college years, she continued playing for various choral group, orchestras and bands, and was honored to serve as a "Conductor's accompanist."

 

Jaime's first love however was ensemble work and she began singing and playing in lounges along the East Coast. She also plays organ, electric bass and acoustic guitar. Her experience includes lounge acts, show bands, cabaret, ensembles, quartets and trios, as well as a 15 piece big band with a vocalist.
